Why I Love New Year's Day

New Year's Day has always been my favorite day of the year - full of wonder at what a new year will bring. I love the idea of second chances, fresh starts, clearing of the decks, etc. The new year, for me, brings thoughts of what I would like to accomplish; of little things I can do to improve my quality of life and the lives of those who cross my path; of new opportunities to nuture friendships, makenew friends and reconnect with ones; of appreciation of the gift of my family; and of gratitude for all the experiences of the last year (the good and the bad, for both shape who I am).

May 2009 bring much joy to you and yours!

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Hey LeeAnn Thanks for the comment on my blog. I love your new years post.
I also admire your Decluttering that you accomplished in 2008. We had to do that too when we moved this summer into a great new house that had less storage space. When pressed to do it, you'd be amazed what you will haul off to Goodwill without a backwards glance!
By the way i love reading blogs from TN cause i grew up in Franklin TN outside Nashville and my husband is from Waynesboro.
Happy New Year.

Howdy! You look quite content in that new profile picture. Godliness brings contentment, I hear. :) Where would we be otherwise...

You seem so organized, something I need to consider more this year. Can't wait to see all the year has in store for us. :)

Tea - Me? Organized? You don't know how funny that statement is! My mother visited over Christmas and told me that this was the most unorganized household she's ever seen. I told her that I learned at the feet of the Master. :)
