A Wicked Weekend

This past weekend, I travelled with 2 of my bestest friends in the whole wide world to see Wicked at the Kentucky Center of the Arts in Louisville. What an absolutely fabulous show this was! If you get a chance to see it, jump on it -- whether you're a Wizard of Oz fan or not (I am not). The music, the costumes, the sets, the story -- nothing disappointed.

I wanted to be Elphabah, bright green skin and all. But, since, I can't go around in day-glo green makeup, I think I'll knit something.

Grumpy Grumpy Grumpy

Yes, that would be me. I've been running errands, working, wasting time, and NOT KNITTING. The lack of fiber in my diet has made me very:

So, tonight, I did a little knitting on my Maizy sock and now I'm:

Ahhhh - much better now!

Why I Love New Year's Day

New Year's Day has always been my favorite day of the year - full of wonder at what a new year will bring. I love the idea of second chances, fresh starts, clearing of the decks, etc. The new year, for me, brings thoughts of what I would like to accomplish; of little things I can do to improve my quality of life and the lives of those who cross my path; of new opportunities to nuture friendships, makenew friends and reconnect with ones; of appreciation of the gift of my family; and of gratitude for all the experiences of the last year (the good and the bad, for both shape who I am).

May 2009 bring much joy to you and yours!

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
